Can WVA-J200 functionality exist outside of WiFi?

Can the benefits of this embedded device be extended across different physical wireless protocols such as the S3B's 900MHz Digimesh system? If not, are there currently any plans to implement this at Digi?

I feel like this could have been an oversight given the inherent nature of J1939's industry presence (oil and gas, marine, industrial, agriculture) and thus the likely circumstance of a poor WiFi presence. This device over the 900MHz mesh would be fantastic. Unless I'm of course not understanding the throughput requirements of the application, though I believe the specifications of the WVA-J200 mentions hardware filtering, so not sure why data size could not be mitigated.

Thanks
