What is the point of the GPIO is there is no connection to any Communication protocol?

Can we at least publish the GPIO to modbus or something.

Write you own python code to facilitate such,

I use I/O ports as inputs to monitor if A.C. power fails and to alert when backup battery is close to LVD (low voltage disconnect), the alerts are sent as an SMS to my mobile phone.

The Analog input is used to read the battery voltage with a voltage divider (resistors) to put in in the ADC's range.

GPIO is very useful...
