WR 44-RR hard reset to wipe out configuration via flashwriter

0 votes
hi there,
i tried to use flashwriter to bring the wr44-rr back to default due to forgotten login password.
however, while trying, (enabled "Configure only (do not re-load firmware)" option), flashwriter popped up error message "Run-time error '13': type mismatch" after completeing following steps :

1. input S/N
2. select .all file (wr44v2-5.2.19.10.all)
3. select W-WAN module (default : 100 no module)

could you share with me what i should do to default the unit ?

thanks

Hi

depending on how far you went through protecting the router you might be able to connect to the router through the serial port and change the username / password on the serial interface.

if you want to totaly flatten the unit then using flashwriter as you have with the correct serialnumber and wan settigns should clear flash and load a new firmware.

i have never used the configuration only so could not comment on that.

if you still have problems you should contact Tech.Support@digi.com

regards
