Bootloader application update kills bootloader?

Hi!

I programmed the programmable Xbee's freescale MCU through the bootloader.
(I dont have a programmer/debugger kit)

I uploaded the knight rider application demo example for XBIB development panel.

After uploading, the APP goes well but the bootloader is inaccessible any more. After power on the knight rider application banner is sending a header text through the serial-to-usb into the terminal console.
But i am unable to reach the bootloader!

Does the original demo examples overwrite the bootloader????? That is nonsense.

The bootloader's role is to able to program the MCU without devlopment programmer kit.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

The Demos you are referring to are intended and designed to be used with the BDM programmer. This is why the demo applications over write the existing application (IE the bootloader).
