To build Digi Embedded for Android, you need the following:

Ubuntu 18.04 is the recommended distribution to build Android 11.0, the version used in the ConnectCore 8X. The instructions below are specific to Ubuntu 18.04.

Set up your development computer to build the Android firmware:

  1. Install required packages.

    Issue the following command to install the required packages in Ubuntu 18.04:

    $ sudo apt-get install bc bison build-essential curl
      flex fontconfig gcc-multilib git-core g++-multilib
      gnupg lib32ncurses5-dev lib32z1-dev libc6-dev-i386
      libgl1-mesa-dev libssl-dev libx11-dev libxml2-utils rsync
      unzip x11proto-core-dev xsltproc zip zlib1g-dev
